Teller/Bitterroot Valley Ducks Unlimited Greenwing Event

Read here about last year's event... Over 75 youth attended the 2011 Bitterroot Valley premier outdoor Greenwing Expo! The morning began with Kate Davis of the Raptors of the Rockies giving a presentation on how her peregrine falcon and great horned owl hunt themselves. The kids enjoyed examining the live birds up close. Following the presentation, the other activities began consisting of a Decoy Painting and Artwork Contest, Used Gear Exchange, Dog Handling, Duck/Goose Calling, Archery Shooting and Laser Shooting. Many local businesses and organizations involved in conservation provided further education and entertainment for both young and old alike. Each youngster went home with hats and a variety of prizes, including knifes, books, goose calls and a lucky few with new shotguns. Over 20 youth in attendance have been selected to hunt on The Teller during the special youth opening weekend in September and the private Double Fork Ranch in December.  A Silent Auction and Raffles were available for the adults. Join us next year and be a part of conservation in the Bitterroot!
